Northern Irish couple welcomes New Year €130.000.000 richer

Frances and Patrick Connolly are starting 2019 on a high note, after their Euromillions ticket matched all the winning numbers in the first draw of the year. The fortunate couple from Northern Ireland scooped an incredible €129.645.000 jackpot and they intend to share it with 50 of their closest friends and family members.

They won this life-changing windfall after matching the winning numbers 1, 8, 11, 25 and 28 with Lucky Stars 4 and 6 in the Euromillions draw on January 1st. The couple celebrated their victory with a cup of tea and a hug, and spent a sleepless night before getting in touch with lottery officials to confirm their victory.

“We honestly thought we would never win anything like this. Never in a million years. I’m sure that lots of other people think the same but we are proof that it can happen to anyone and we feel so grateful and privileged that lady luck has landed at our door on this occasion,” said Ms. Connolly.

Financial freedom they now have will provide them with an opportunity to pursue new passions, but helping others still comes first. Frances and Patrick already composed a list of people they want to share this jackpot with, and it features around 50 names. The couple can’t wait to share the news with their loved ones and see shocked expressions on their faces.

“This is a massive sum of money and we want it to have a huge impact on the lives of other people we know and love as well as on our future too. This win gives us the chance to really make a difference for our family and friends,” concluded Ms. Connolly.
