Euromillions hasn’t produced a jackpot winner in quite some time, but several lucky punters collected impressive windfalls along the way. An anonymous man from Laois is one of them – he recently came forward to claim an amazing prize worth €500.000.
This fortunate punter tried his luck in the Euromillions draw on December 11th, but failed to match the winning numbers 4, 7, 13, 23 and 42 with the bonus balls 1 and 3. He had more luck in the special Irish Raffle, and ended up scooping consolation prize worth €500.000 by the end of the night.
Laois resident heard the news about a major winner being produced in Mountmellick, but kept walking around with his ticket like nothing happened because he didn’t think it was the winning one. He doesn’t live in this town, and only makes an occasional stop at the gas station when he’s driving by, so he didn’t think much of it.
The €500.000 winner said he was completely speechless after getting in touch with the lottery officials, and couldn’t utter a single word after learning how much money he’s about to collect. The humble winner doesn’t intend to go on any mad spending splurges, and wants to help out his family after receiving the prize.
Latest Euromillions draw with no winner in sight took place on December 25th. The winning numbers 4, 5, 8, 31 and 43 with the Lucky Stars 2 and 9 didn’t transform anyone into a multi-millionaire, but they brought impressive prizes of smaller value to fortunate players all around Europe. Next Euromillions draw will take place this Friday night, and it will offer €119.000.000 just in time for the New Year.
